Okay, back on topic, after my Chingay practice today at the Japanese Association located at Adam Road, Jia Min and I went to Donguri after settling some stuff. ;P
This is a picture of the dolls that you can find on the side tables opposite the reception desk. LOLs.
After entry to the restaurant, Donguri, which is located on the first level of the JAS building, we were led to our seats and after taking our orders, we found out that we weren't supposed to be there ;O LOLs. It was a members-only area. LOL. WE PHAILED ;P. Anyways, they served us our utensils and water promptly.
After waiting for about 5 minutes, Jia Min's Curry and Omelette rice arrived ;D It costed $11. There were also kara-age to go with the omelette that was covering the rice, and also the curry, which was not spicy at all! Maybe I should have bought the curry to eat, the spices used in it were so fragrant that I was tempted to get one as well. ;P
After waiting for another 5 minutes, my 'January Special Set' arrived. It cost me $20. LOL. Wallet = insta phail. (Luckily I forgot to take out the spare cash in meh wallet (teh
Domo-kun)). Ah damnet. Teh photo aint clear too. ;xx LOL. oh nvm. you can see half of Jia Min's Curry and Omelette rice at the top of the photo. Followed by the next row of dishes. Firstly, plain Japanese rice in a white bowl, then soy sauce for dipping your tempura and stuff ;P and miso soup in that tiny maroon-coloured bowl (closed).
Next, on to the six dishes ;D On the top left, it was grilled fish in teriyaki sauce, followed by a whole dish of tempura, next was a bowl of salad ;o. In the next row, we have on the left, a plate of sashimi ;D, followed by some appetizers, and lastly the soba noodles. ;P
Well, the plain Japanese rice in the white bowl tasted similar to that of Tori-Q's, except that it was much stickier. The miso soup in the maroon bowl was rather salty, but it was really nice, unlike the low quality types at foodcourts which really phail completely(Srsly, those taste like shit in comparison to Donguri's).
The grilled fish in teriyaki sauce was probably the dish which was the 'fullest' in flavour as compared to the others in the 6-dish-lineup. ;P The fish meat was firm and did not reek of any wierd smell. Hahas. The teriyaki sauce was quite sweet as well. 8D The tempura next to it was not oily at all, in fact, it tasted great after dipping it in the soy sauce provided. ;P There was prawn, mushroom, and about 3 or 4 other vegetable type tempura. The last dish on that same row was the salad, which comprised not only of lettuce, but also of apricot slices. ;DD
In the next row, the dish with sashimi was nice ;D The first two slices of fish tasted the best, there was hardly any 'fishy' kinda smell xD The three red ones after it, however, had some fishy smell. lols. The last two pieces on the sashimi dish were scallops. ;D They tasted nice, but I still think that the texture and taste of the meat still lost to the first two pieces. Next was the appetiser, there was salmon roe in it ;D Yay. Egg-eating ;P The two yellowish-reddish pieces in it were actually crabmeat rolled in Japanese omelette. Absolutely appetizing and delicious ;P. The last dish was soba, which was dipped in ume sauce (or something of the sort.) Hahas.
In general, I liked the sashimi and the salad the best. This meal has proved to be worth the $20 i paid for, even the worst tasting part of it owns the other Japanese food stalls you can find outside, with exception to Tori-Q's yakitori. hahas.
After finishing her Curry and Omelette rice, Jia Min ordered a 7-UP float, which costed $3.20 I think. LOLs. 7-UP topped with vanilla ice-cream. lul. The photo provided is after Jia Min had one sip of it. Apparently, some of the ice-cream got mashed into the 7-UP thanks to Jia Min's evilness! XDD
So, after I finished my Special Set, I ordered a chocolate ice-cream, which costed $2.20 I think. hahas. It tasted just like the nestle chocolate one that you can find in the 1.5 litre boxes in NTUC. LUL.
Ah well, I'll update with a photo of SP Chingay participants soon. ;P

Today I went for the Anime Festival Asia 2008 @ Suntec Convention after my morning jog ;P The official page for the event is http://www.afa08.com/. While I was on my way there, I heard a familar voice while I was on the escalator near New York New York. Guess who it was? WAN BAO. LOL! I heard her, but did not see her. LOL. So I called her to ask, it turned out that we went past each other. Hahas. ;P Anyways, back to the main topic, when I first reached Suntec, I had to queue up to get meh ticket ;P costed me $5. Ah.... T_T Meh $ for meh chibi kuroshitsuji figurines that I was saving for..... T_Tll Ah nvm, sacrificing $5 is worth for the fun later ;P. Then I got my ticket! It's number was lame.... My ticket number was 06000. O_Oll lmao-logy. Hahas. So I went on in to the AFA! First thing I saw was Bandai. ;o. LOL. got meh stunned ;x So I went on to walk around the area, apparently my navigational instincts failed on me and I went on a merry-go-round at the area xD Haha. Had some fun squeezing among the crowd while getting around. Lols.
While I was on my merry-go-round, I saw huge D.Gray-Man Posters Promotional Boards! xD Couldn't help myself, had to take a few sucky snapshots of it, no matter how sucky my 3.2 megapixel hp camera was. LOL.
I continued my stroll, saw some stores selling video game stuff, gachapon, figurines. Had a tough time squeezing thru sia. Yes I am one hell of a fat ass. To the idiotic dumb people, say an "excuse meh" or sth when u want to walk past can? Kenot talk also nvm, just tap me on the shoulder lah. Mai just rush past make the whole row of people turn into humpty dumpty, all dao, and lean on each other. Orz""
Then I continued meh stroll, apparently irritated. O! Eh!!! Pulip!!! omg crap. wtf are they doing here?! xD Couldn't help mehself. Had to join in the photo-taking crowd! xD Sadly, there weren't any Kuroshitsuji ones here. Those were only for preview in Korea or Japan I think. Haha.
Aw man, how the friggin am I supposed to resist the temptation should the Sebastian (Kuroshitsuji) version come to Singapore? Orz"" I'm failing. LOL.
After I was finished with the photo-taking crowd, I continued meh hunt! ;P

After all that photo-taking, I decided it was time that I went ahead to the Kareshi Kanojyo no Mise stall to get some Kuroshitsuji stuff! And..... LOL. I had to queue up just to get into the stall. Orz"". Worst part was.. I waited for an hour before I got in! +.+ Lols. Super diao worz. T_Tll
After the first 40 minutes of waiting + playing psp, I looked up and went :O!!!!! OMG friggin! Kuroshitsuji cosplayers! I had been searching for them for the past 2 hours! T_T And... I'm stuck in my queue T_T Sebastian dun run away!!! T_Tlll Orz. I failed ;P. 15 minutes later, they appeared again, and I was really close to getting into meh KKNM stall. Once again they ran away T_T. Ah.... T_Tll
And, there was a friggin spoiler! T_T The posters were almost sold out, the clear files were sold out, all that were left intact were the tiny metallic postcards and mousepad T_T I srsly wanted to bang my head on the wall right beside me. I was aiming to get a Kuroshitsuji file! T_T Ah T_T Sebastian and the clear files ran away T_T.
Finally it was my turn, so I simply went ahead, bought mousepad pattern A and left ;P
I then proceeded to the area where I last caught sight of Sebastian and Ciel. And to my surprise, they were right at the corner where the poster promotional boards were! ;D Apparently, they were lagged there by 6-7 photographers. Haha! Just nice! xD
Note: To the Sebastian and Ciel in the piccy above, thanks for being so nice! Thanks for waiting for that moment more to let me capture a shot of you, even though I was using only a hp camera, and even though the other photographers were done already, and also even though you two probably had to stay in that position for so long. Thanks so much, that cheered my day up a little, after being irritated by random stuffs around. ;P I look forward to seeing your cosplay again soon! ;P And yes, I did notice you looking at me to see if I was gonna take a shot xD. Teh heh. ;P I appreciate that thoughtfulness! ;P Most cosplayers are kind like. Pose + You get the photo if you're fast enough + they bother about the majority only. ;P
Teh heh. After that i simply dragged my aching feet home, which had suffered the strain on my morning jog and merry-go-rounds around Suntec, and also that one hour wait. ;P
